Product Description
FX Liquid Metal is an interior water - based tintable product. A hardwearing liquid paste, especially manufactured for producing different and creative finishes with a sponge, brush or spray equipment. The product base comes with a metallic appearance. The base can be used with or without tinting.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and free of all loose dirt, dust, grease, loose or flaking paint, and loose surface plaster. Efflorescence or mould on masonry or concrete surfaces must be treated. Flatten gloss surfaces by thoroughly sanding and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Then apply FX Sealer Undercoat as required.
For best results surfaces should be well prepared and smooth.
Application
Stir contents thoroughly before and during use with a broad flat stirrer using an upward action.
Brush/Roller: Tint an acrylic satin base coat as close as possible to the chosen colour. Apply the fist coat by roller. Ensure the roller is very soft and between 12mm-18mm nap. The second coat may be applied by a roller or by a 100mm brush, using a criss-cross motion. It is important to keep a wet edge at all times. To slow down the drying time add approximately 10% of FX Scumble.
Conventional Spray: Suitable for application by all standard spray equipment. Best results are achieved on smooth surfaces.
Tinting: Refer to tinting specifications. Requires: 2-3 coats
Approximate Spreading Rate: 12-14 square metres per litre, depending on application and surface roughness.
Approximate Film thickness: Wet: 70 microns Dry: 25 microns Thinner: Water Method: Sponge, special rollers, brush, roller, conventional spray.
Drying Times: (at 25c) Touch: 2 Hours. Recoat: 6 hours. Clean up: Water
