When the exterior of this home in a Sydney beachside suburb was given a facelift, its owner decided to make the walls an outdoor gallery for the art pieces he had lovingly collected from his home town of Torino in northern Italy. FX Australia Lime Wash was the perfect choice, because it endowed the rendered surfaces with all the attributes of a classic Mediterranean lime wash finish – without any of the complications. Traditional lime washes must be applied over a wet surface, difficult in our water-restricted climate, and must be completely sealed before any later applications with a different product.
But FX Australia Lime Wash is acrylic-based and applied just like any conventional paint (no water required!) and can be re-coated without sealing. Here, the applicator started with one coat of FX Stucco Undercoat, then rolled on a first coat of custom-coloured FX Lime Wash, and brushed on a final coat, using a large lime brush. FX Lime Wash is suited to interior or exterior use, comes in a range of 60 superb colours, or like all FX Australia premium coatings, can be custom coloured.
