Product Description
FX Stone is an interior and exterior grade product producing an authentic stone finish. This product may be applied by a stucco trowel, brush, roller or mitt, depending on the desired effect.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and free of all loose dirt, dust, grease, loose or flaking paint, and loose surface plaster. Ensure surfaces are as smooth & clean as possible to ensure best finish. Efflorescence or mould on masonry or concrete surfaces must be treated. Flatten gloss surfaces by thoroughly sanding and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Then apply FX Sealer Undercoat as required. NB. Can be sprayed onto a mould to achieve a stone finish effect, add water for this.
Application
FX Stone is a pre-tinted product but can be further tinted to achieve a various colours.
Stir contents thoroughly before and during use with a broad flat stirrer using an upward action, or preferably use a power driven mixing paddle. Trowel: Apply first coat with a stainless steel trowel, as smooth as possible. Apply second coat in the same manner after the first coat as dried for12 hours. Different size trowels will create different finishes. Do not apply in direct sunlight.
FX Australia recommends an experienced applicator for a trowel finish.
Airless or conventional spraying: Suitable for application by all standard spray equipment. For conventional spraying up to 125ml (or more) per litre of water may be added to aid atomisation. Airless spray 30ml per litre (or more) can be added to aid atomisation.
FX Stone can also be applied by roller or brush to achieve different finishes. This method requires dilution with water. We suggest 100ml to 200ml water to 1 kg of FX Stone. For brush & roller application do not over dilute.
Tinting: Refer to colour chart for tinting specifications.
Approximate Spreading Rate: 4-6 sq metres per kg, depending on application and surface roughness.
