FX Australia® Product Information
FX Flexible Stucco
FX Flexible Stucco is a tintable acrylic plaster coating that replicates the lime and ground marble ‘Stucco Veneziano’ popularised in Italy during the Renaissance. Its highly textured, mirror finish is achieved using a trowel application and inbuilt flexibility makes it particularly suited to producing an elegant, sophisticated finish on many interior surfaces, including cement render. This is a white-base, high-coverage product.
Many varying effects
Ease of application
FX Flexible Stucco can be used on most interior surfaces such as plaster, plasterboard, cement-rendered surfaces and sound, previously painted surfaces.
All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and free of dirt, dust, grease, loose or flaking paint, and loose surface plaster. Efflorescence or mould on masonry or concrete surfaces must be treated. Flatten gloss surfaces by thoroughly sanding and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Then apply FX Stucco Undercoat as required.
For best results, surfaces should be 'well prepared' and smooth.
Stir contents thoroughly before and during use with a broad, flat stirrer, using an upward action, or ideally use a power-driven mixing paddle.
Requires 2–3 coats applied with a stainless steel stucco trowel. Different sized trowels give different finishes. Place a small amount of product onto the trowel and apply evenly over prepared surface. Trowel is held at an approximate 45-degree angle to the surface during application. To correct imperfections in each coat before applying next coat, use 220-grade sandpaper or higher. When final coat is slightly dry, polish with stainless steel stucco trowel to achieve desired special effect. This coating can also be polished with a special sandpaper to achieve a high sheen when
completely dry. FX Australia suggests using a worn, ultra-fine sanding block.
Generally not required. For hardwearing areas or to achieve water resistance, apply a coating of clear FX Wicked Wax® by trowel.
