FX Australia® Product Information
FX Tintable Pearl
FX Tintable Pearl, a hardwearing, washable liquid paste, gives a rich, creamy ‘Mother of Pearl’ translucence to feature
walls, one-off design projects such as murals, furniture and decorative pieces. Match to base colour for a subtle,
romantic effect or contrast to base for more drama. Both Satin and Gloss coatings can be used untinted or tinted.
Ease of application
FX Tintable Pearl is ideal for producing a variety of special effects on prepared interior surfaces, such as plaster, plasterboard, iron, cement and timber.
All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and free of dirt, dust, grease, loose or flaking paint, and loose surface plaster. Efflorescence or mould on masonry or concrete surfaces must be treated. Flatten gloss surfaces by thoroughly sanding and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Ensure the surfaces are well prepared and as smooth as possible.
Apply FX Lemon Tree Creek® Sealer Undercoat as required. Once the sealer coat is dry, to increase workability, apply a base coat of FX Lemon Tree Creek® Semi-Gloss. For a subtle effect, both undercoat and base coat should be tinted to match selected FX Tintable Pearl colour as closely as possible. For a more dramatic effect, use an undercoat and base coat in a contrasting colour to the selected FX Tintable Pearl colour.
Stir contents thoroughly before and during use with a broad, flat stirrer, using an upward action.
Apply the first coat of FX Tintable Pearl by roller. Ensure the roller is very soft and between 12 mm–18 mm nap. Allow first coat to dry completely. The second coat may be applied by roller or a 100 mm brush, using a criss-cross motion. Other effects may be achieved by experimenting with different brush strokes, or by using a sponge, spatula or spray.
Note: To slow down the drying time, add approximately 10% of FX Scumble.
Suitable for application using all standard spray equipment.
