FX Australia® Product Information
(Interior & Exterior)
FX Travertino® replicates the exquisite, natural beauty of travertine stone. Its simplicity and durability make it as attractive for high-end commercial developments as for intimate family spaces. Different application methods will produce a wide variety of special surface effects.
Many varying effects
Ease of application
FX Travertino® is a premium product, producing many different special effects on prepared surfaces such as plaster, plasterboard and rendered walls.
All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and free of dirt, dust, grease, loose or flaking paint, and loose surface plaster. Surfaces should be as smooth and clean as possible to ensure best finish. Efflorescence or mould on masonry or concrete surfaces must be treated. Flatten gloss surfaces by thoroughly sanding and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Then apply FX Stucco Undercoat as required.
Stir contents thoroughly before and during use with a broad, flat stirrer, using an upward action, or ideally use a power-driven mixing paddle.
Using a stainless steel stucco trowel, apply FX Travertino® evenly over prepared surface. Before the FX Travertino® is dry, use a damp sponge or FX Travertino® tool in a circular motion over the finish to create ‘pockets’, then run a clean trowel over the surface.
When surface is dry, use a 150-grade sandpaper pad to smooth the finish. Next, use a 180-grade sandpaper pad to polish, then glide trowel over the finished surface.
For interior use only, apply FX Wicked Wax® Clear evenly over the finish, using a clean white cloth. Finally, buff and polish finish with a lamb’s wool buffer.
Brush/Roller/Mitt: FX Travertino® can also be applied by brush, roller or mitt to achieve different surface effects. When dry, finish using instructions as for trowel application above.
