FX Australia® Product Information
(Interior & Exterior)
FX Wash is a unique, acrylic-based coating using modern technology to create an aged, translucent finish. It adds charm and character to FX Australia textured coatings, such as FX Stone and FX Mud Paint™ and brings a lucent quality to non-textured coatings like FX Lemon Tree Creek® Low Sheen and FX Lemon Tree Creek® Semi-Gloss. FX Wash is a simple, one-coat product that dries flat. Further coats may be applied to achieve different effects.
Ease of application
FX Wash produces many different special effects on interior surfaces such as plaster, plasterboard, and on bagged and rendered walls.
All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and free of dirt, dust, grease, loose or flaking paint, and loose surface plaster. Efflorescence or mould on masonry or concrete surfaces must be treated. Flatten gloss surfaces by thoroughly sanding and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Then apply FX Lemon Tree Creek® Undercoat as required. If using over FX Mud Paint™, or other FX Australia textured coating, for best results FX Australia suggests applying two coats of the selected textured coating, white or tinted, followed by one coat of tinted FX Wash. FX Wash can also be applied over
FX Lemon Tree Creek® Low Sheen or FX Lemon Tree Creek® Semi-Gloss, white or tinted.
Stir contents thoroughly before use with a broad, flat stirrer, using an upward action.
Brush/Roller: Use a 75 mm or 100 mm brush or a short or long nap roller, depending on required finish. If using a brush, apply FX Wash freely, overlapping as you go, to achieve a more stylish finish. Can also be applied with a mitt or sponge to produce other special effects.
For more durability, on internal surfaces only, we suggest finishing with a top coat of FX Super Matt Clear.
